12-Week Challenge Discussion Board > Questions for thought

I came across these two questions in a book I was reading and they have really inspired me and helped me in making better decisions. Maybe they can help some of you also!!

I like to refer to these questions before I eat, and it helps me really think about what I am doing to my body.

1. What are the consequences of the choice I am making?
2. Will this choice bring happiness into my life and bring me closer to my goals?

The second one really hits home for me, because although that brownies, cookie, cake etc. is so tempting and delicious, I think about my goals and what will REALLY make me happy.

Tell me what you guys think about this

I definitely agree with you that I need some sort of mantra to help me stay focused on the temptations. Something that works for me.... if I find myself wanting more of something, or having a craving for something "bad" I used to say "just one more bite" or "just one more piece," and of course, before you know it the whole bag/box/whatever is gone. So, when this happens, I tell myself that it will never be enough. I could eat 5 whole chocolate cakes and still want more. It's just never enough, there is no limit. And if I have the attitude of "just one more...." I will end up weighing 500 pounds from eating entire cakes, and I definitely don't want that. Does any of this make sense?
