12-Week Challenge Discussion Board > Thoughts for Week No. 2
What people will you enlist for support and encouragement?
My mom along with Joe and Trista are going to be my biggest rock to lean against. My mom is great but is so busy that sometimes doesnt have the time to be there 100%. I have come to find out that if i am struggling that their are people out there who can help me get to my goal I just need to learn to ask for help=] Thats where one of my problems lie.
What social situations will you avoid over the next several weeks?
Personally I am going to have to avoid going to my sisters house. I love her to death but her hosue is a hto zone that I need to avoid. She has sugar EVERYWHERE, and it turns out I have no self will/control when I am around it. This means that until I have a better mental state i can not let myself spend my free time over there because I will fall off the wagon with sugar around.
What places will you go for support? I have promsied myself that once a week i will have a coffee get together with either my mom or my sister. This will be a "me" time to share with someone how I am doing and feeling ect. I need to ensure that I am able to let them know when I am haveing a hard time, and what I have overcome. They are supportive of me, just dont know how to help because they are naturally thin.
I also have began to start a relationship with Trisa and Joe. I know that if I have questions or need help and support that I can talk to them.
What places will you avoid that are counterproductive to your goal? As stated I need to avoid my sisters house because of all the sugar that is there. I also need to avoid the breakroom at work. There are always goodies out on the table in there. If I am able to do things wiht my sister that dont involve sitting at her house, I think this will not onle bennefit me, but her as well!!!
I am excited to change my life and keep on a trucking!1

One of the biggest secrets to transforming your body and lifestyle is about support, about creating a supportive environment that helps you meet your goals. After all, your environment can support healthy behavior or do the opposite.
When I say environment I'm referring to the people you interact with, the places you go (work, primarily) and the space you live in, as well as the things around your home.
The people in your environment have a powerful effect on your energy, thoughts, emotions and health. In fact, what I've noticed over the years is that healthy, positive people have healthy, positive friends. The people you choose to share your time with can influence the direction of journey.
Where you live, where you work and the places you may go are also part of your environment. Each one influences your behavior and health for the better or worse, and they can even affect your thought processes, energy and your mood.
What we surround ourselves with we tend to become.
Take a good, honest look at the environment you are in each day. From there, we'll determine which aspects of it are working for you and which might be working against you.
