Burn 100 Calories in 20 Minutes or Less

From Self

10 easy tricks to melt inches

1. Pedal away pounds. Mountain bike for a scenic slimming 11 minutes, or take a spin around your neighborhood for 17 minutes. Whatever you do, don't forget your helmet!

2. Play dodgeball with the little ones for 19 minutes of calorie-blasting, fat-fighting fun!

3. Run around. Take to the pavement or treadmill for a jog and erase nearly 10 calories per minute.

4. Boogie down! Bust out your favorite dance moves for a 20-minute sweat session that feels like a party.

5. Swim yourself slim. Glide through the pool for 15 minutes with a consistent crawl stroke. Or tread water for 10 minutes to get the same sizzle.

6. Go on a hike. Climb a pretty trail for 16 minutes.

7. Strike a yoga pose. Doing a soothing 15 minutes of Vinyasa yoga on your lunch break can vanquish stress and calories.

8. Shoot hoops. Incinerate calories with a quick 16-minute game of basketball. H-O-R-S-E, anyone?

9. Dig in the dirt. Gardening for 20 minutes yields a gorgeous yard -- and a trimmer you.

10. Hit the beach volleyball court. Bump, set and spike your way to a scorching-hot bikini body in 12 minutes.

It's a bird, it's a plane...

Pam's already gotten to be Spider Woman. Now she's Super Woman, taking off, flying away to stop some evil master plan and save the world.

See? Boot camp gives you super powers!

Well, OK. So she was actually hopping through an obstacle course, the cardio burst part of our circuit this morning. But, that's pretty darn super, too, in my opinion.

Ute Valley Park

Wasn't it a lovely morning today?

Hike 6

This shot was taken from my phone at one of the high points of a trail in Ute Valley Park. Living on the Northwest side, it's right in my own backyard, and I've promised myself to get out there and hike in it at least one morning every week. The outside loop takes me about 40 minutes -- or 50 minutes total from my front door, round trip -- with a run/walk combination. It would naturally be a little longer just walking, but still a short enough work out to squeeze in.

If anyone nearby wants to join me or wants to know more about the park, leave a comment and I'll send you my information.
